Post  Re: My Experience with Houston Motors Auction Auctions

Hey everyone, I've been lurking for a while and wanted to get some opinions. I'm looking at a 2021 Ford Explorer on the houstonmotorsauction.com website. The price seems almost too good to be true for a repo auction. I'm a bit nervous about buying sight unseen. Has anyone here actually bought a car from Houston Motors Auction? Are they legit?

Yep, I've used them twice. Got a great deal on a Honda CR-V for my wife last year. The process was surprisingly smooth. Just read the inspection report carefully.

I can vouch for Houston Motors Auction. I bought a 2019 Ford F-150 from them. Had a question about the bidding process and called them up. The guy on the phone was straightforward and helpful. Car was exactly as described.

My experience was mostly positive. The only hiccup was that it took them a day or so to reply to my initial email at office@houstonmotorsauction.com. But once they got back to me, the agent who called was super helpful and answered all my questions. The car was a great value.

Thanks for the replies! My biggest worry is the paperwork. How was the process of getting the title?

@FirstTimerFred Don't sweat it. I was worried about the title too, but the bank cleared it right after my payment went through. The clear title arrived with the car during delivery. It was all handled by Houston Motors Auction, no chasing required.

A client of mine bought a Lexus from houstonmotorsauction and brought it to my shop for an inspection. The car was in the exact condition described in their report on the website. I was impressed. The issues were all minor and cosmetic.

It's not just cars. I bought a Sea Ray boat from Houston Motors Auction this summer. The process was solid. They have some great deals on repossessed boats and RVs too if you keep an eye on the listings on houstonmotorsauction.com.

The delivery for my Toyota Camry was a couple of days later than quoted. They said it was a logistics issue on their carrier's end. A bit annoying, but they kept me updated with calls, and the car arrived in perfect shape, so it wasn't a huge deal in the end.

@FirstTimerFred To echo CarGalore, the title process was seamless for me as well. No issues with the title at all. Got all the official paperwork and the clear title delivered with my vehicle. Honestly, it was easier than buying from some private sellers.

Tip for new users on houstonmotorsauction.com: Take your time and get familiar with the bidding interface. I was a little confused at first during my first auction, but it's pretty standard once you do it once. Maybe place a small bid on a cheap car you don't care about just to see how it works.
